Heating Up Industry
What is a floating offshore wind shot?
Floating Offshore Wind Shot is an initiative to help usher in a clean energy future by driving US leadership in floating offshore wind design, development, and manufacturing.
Like any other large-scale program, the Floating Offshore Wind Shot has many goals and will affect the windmill and clean energy industry in several ways. However, two of the most prevalent effects of this infrastructure bill will be the production and installation of more wind turbines and, by effect, a more significant amount of clean energy generation for the United States.
Large Farm Equipment
There are areas of the world where farms are huge and require equally large farm equipment. Each year the equipment and technology that drives productivity growth in agriculture continue to evolve helping farmers feed the world.
March 27 was the last day of National Agriculture Week in the US. Designed for promoting agriculture, the companies, and the families that help produce food feeding and fueling the world.
Agriculture is an international powerhouse and economic driver around the world. Vast areas of most countries are dedicated to agriculture. It is estimated that 28% of the world’s population, some 1 billion people work in the agricultural sector in 2018. This is down from 44% in 1991 for a variety of reasons.Farm Equipment & Machinery
Equipment & Machinery Used In Agriculture Farming and Agriculture have become synonyms throughout the world. Depending on your location, the machinery used for agriculture ranges from hand labor with shovels to the world's most technologically advanced equipment. From family vegetable gardens to thousand-acre farms, tools and machinery reduce labor and increase output. After hundreds of years of a global evolution in farming, disparities exist between poorer countries and economically strong neighbors. The contrasts aren't just economic. Soil, weather, water, and climate also separate poor agriculture from the prosperous. Farms come in all shapes and sizes. The definition of a...
Gas & Oil Pipeline Machinery
Gas and Oil Pipeline Construction Machinery Gas and oil pipeline equipment sits idle now that the Keystone XL pipeline again comes to a standstill. The immense amount of equipment and materials used for any pipeline construction is hard to conceive without pictures and a list of quantities or investments. Imagine the Keystone XL pipeline for pumping heavy oil-sand crude from Canada to Texas Gulf. A total of 1,210 miles of the pipeline was to be built. Dozens of construction contracts, thousands of workers, tons of pipe and materials, and hundreds of equipment pieces. Every mile required construction equipment specifically designed...
When Pipeline Machinery Froze in Texas
Oil & gas pipeline machinery froze in Texas during the winter storm starting a chain reaction that caused deaths, food and water shortages, and power plant shutdowns.
The machinery at pumping stations, valves, and even the pipes weren’t protected from the freezing temperatures. Houston and the areas surrounding aren’t normally subjected to cold and snowy conditions. The equipment associated with and operating the pipeline infrastructure were protected as it might be in Alaska, Dakotas, or Nebraska.
In Northern geographic locations pipelines and the machinery that operates them are protected through insulation and heating devices specifically designed to protect against the cold.
PTC ceramic element heaters are often used for heating in these harsh climates. The unique temperature control devices take up little room, aren’t combustible, and self-controlling. PTC stands for positive temperature coefficient which manages resistance in reverse relationship to the temperature. Once the set-point temperature is reached the increasing resistance shuts down the circuit. The same characteristics offer fast warm-up due to low resistance at cooler temperatures.
